How about some kind of invention contest, as in "design an invention to ___," with maybe tying in the purpose to New Sincerity.
Or a station ID contest. People create and send in station IDs, and you pick the (however many) best to use on the show. You could impose a time limit on them (10-15 seconds?), but other than that, anything goes.
Similar to the first idea, how about a "design a new superhero" contest?
I would want a Kids in the Hall DVD set!!! How about... "best drawing of what you think Jesse Thorn looks like, based on his radio voice." And if you already know what he looks like, draw him as if he were some sort of fantastical dragon or space-demon.
Defacement of a dollar bill contest! Creatively deface a dollar bill and send it to Jesse. Must still be able to be spent. This way it is legal and the funds collected can be used to support the program. Also, ice-cream sandwich eating contest. I've always wanted to know how many of those the average person could eat in a sitting. I think if I skipped dinner, I could do about six to eight. I realize that's an impossible contest to hold over the interweb/radio. And finally, listeners could predict the plot lines of certain tv shows when they return in the fall. You could give a prize for the most creative entry (or entries) now and then a prize for who comes closest to the actual plot line when the new seasons premiere in the fall. This could be fun for cheesy, soap-opera type shows, like Gilmore Girls or the OC...
You put a certain number of DVD sets into a jar, everyone guesses, and the person who comes closest to the actual number wins! Or, you could bake a bunch of cupcakes, and put a DVD set into one of them. Whoever gets the cupcake with the DVD set wins!
"Rust, a fungus disease, sapped the
wheat crop. Production of durum wheat dropped from the 10-year average
of 31,547,000 bushels a year to 4,976,000 bushels."

Does the person who comes up with the contest idea win the set?
I need a lot of contest ideas. July is contest month.
I'm a fan of art contests. Such as, draw a Sound of Young America comic strip. Or do a funny dance.

Or, since it's July, how about a "what I did on my summer vacation" essay contest?

Wet Tshirt Contest!

I'd love a Kids in the Hall DVD, but I suck at contests.
How about a contest based on how far away you are from St. Louis?
