No "It's Always Sunny"

I know, I've been promising an "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" interview for weeks now, but it looks like it's not happening. Unfortunately, somewhere between F/X's publicists (helpful) and the guys' personal publicist (not), everything broke down completely. I would presume this was because when I made initial arrangements a few months ago, the show was much, much less buzzed about then it is now. Also, Rob Corddry just had a baby, so that's looking bad, too. Sorry.

That sucks, but as longas TSOYA comes back weekly soon, I'll be happy with whoever you deem interesting enough to have on the show.

As long as I get some more guests booked, we're back to weekly now. Sorry for the little every-other-week break, but I had to do it to keep my head above water.

Corddry would have been awesome, but I know this show wouldn't exactly be my first priority if I just had a baby. Either way, I'm just glad TSOYA is back.

I know it's sort of unrelated, but I think I once heard you mention something about a disasterous interview with David Cross. I'd still be interested in hearing that- as a College Years, maybe?

I wouldn't characterize the Cross interview as disasterous (though Gene did and probably still would). I was out of town, it was one of our first big interviews... Gene and Jordan weren't really comfortable doing it, Cross was going over the grapevine talking on his cell... he had had a really bad show in Santa Cruz the night before. It was weird. Cross was very funny, though a bit of it was at the expense of Gene & Jordan. I think they felt bad about it because he was our hero at the time (still, to some extent). I think it'll come up in the COllege Years eventually.

It started off on a bad note. Gene had been to a taping of a non-picked-up sketch pilot that Bob had done post-Mr.Show and David had a little bit in it. Based on that we started off with the question: "So, tell us about the new show you a Bob are doing." He responded with "What?" Then we had to scramble to explain why we thought that. The next question we asked was about Run Ronnie Run, which was obviously a sore spot. I think the question was: "Why aren't we watching the Mr. Show movie now?" He responded with: "Becasue New Line won't release it".

Considering our two airballs right out of the gate he was Really nice before his phone cut out and said a bunch of funny things.

I saw him at a party after I moved to LA and apologized. I said: "You were on my college radio and I did a really shitty job interviewing you and I have always wanted to apologize." He said: "It's okay, I think I remember that, it was a lot of fun."" I don't think he actually did remember, but that was the nicest possible way to respond. God Bless you Mr. Cross.

And let it also be mentioned: it was nice of him to do the interview in the first place. I certainly didn't know how to book guests at the time, but his people were like, "Oh, I'm sure he'll do it, he always likes to do college radio." and he called us back personally.

Hey, that's awesome. I obviously don't know from personal experience, but he's always seemed like a pretty decent guy.
