Lucky Louie Cancelled; Louie's comments

Over on AST, Louis CK has responded the Lucky Louie's cancellation by HBO:
Of course, we've got Louie's back. Lucky Louie was by no means an unqualified success, artistically or commercially, but it was one of the bravest and most intelligent shows on TV. All it's problems, in my view, were of the sort that tend to sort themselves out over time. I hoped HBO would agree, but apparently not.
Showrunner Mike Royce agreed to an interview for this blog a couple weeks ago, but put it on hold till the news came down. I imagine he's pretty busy, but hopefully we'll get him on the line and ask him some questions soon.
In the meantime, let's hope somebody has the sense to open a second chapter to this saga.

I really didn't want this to happen, but I half expected it would anyway.
Entourage always seemed like a lousy lead in for the show in the first place- seems like the two have completely different target audiences. I could see why it would turn some people off, but I thought the cheap production values and overall crudity of the show was one of it's biggest charms.
It was rough around the edges, but I was really hoping it would stick around long enough to develop more. Guess I'll have to tape the reruns while I can...
Boo. Hiss. It's the only reason I thought about getting the HBO. It was quite clever.
Lucky Louie is is so realistic and brave that it reminds me early times of Sienfeld.
I hope somebody fights for Lucky Louie, because it I know that it will be so successful that it will change whole understanding of T.V.
