Fat Beats Radio's best of 2006 show... (MP3)

Ricky Gervais hits Fresh Air to talk about Night at the Museum, his crowning masterpiece (also stars Robin Williams and animated dinos).

Skillz - '06 Rap-Up... every year the talented Virginia rapper Skillz runs down the year in urban music in rhyme. Always worth a listen.

Jonathan Katz's "We're Back" on Quickstop Entertainment's Holiday Havoc (MP3)

Noz looks at some overlooked records from 2006. He includes one-time TSOYA guest Count Bass D, not to mention G-Funk favorite Kokane (aka Mr. Kane). Includes music, of course.

I was just about to email you about Devin's new album. It was mentioned in this article in the Houston Press (since he's on Rap-A-Lot), and the same article also predicts that the H-town rap scene has peaked with Weird Al covering Chamillionaire's "Ridin' Dirty."

The more I hear Gervis talk the more I am convinced of Gervis as David Brent. He can be so self important, talking about "my work" and the inner workings of his character on "Extras".

I mean, part of what made Brent so funny was that he was putting on this "ideal boss" facade. It seems that Gervis is constantly putting on this "ideal artist" facade

I think you're right, in a way, Jordan. That said, I think he really is committed to directing credit to his influences and doing good work. Which is very admirable, I think.
