ComiCon Friday
I think Tim the Intern and I will be attending ComiCon tommorow (Friday). They wouldn't give us a place to record, so I imagine we'll just be roaming the convention floor, dicking around with a mic and portable recorder.
If you have great ideas about what we should check out (neither of us has ever been to this or any comic book convention), or if you're going to be there and want to have a lunchtime meetup, post in the comments or drop me an email.

Talk to Scott Kurtz and Kris Straub from PVP and Starslip
I'll probably call you guys up when I'm down there.
As for what to check out: at the independent creators section you might see some cool stuff that you wouldn't be exposed to any other way.
Joke suggestions:
* Make up anime-sounding nouns and ask people for directions: "Where can I find the hakki-ryuku?"
* Go to the portfolio review and ask people to describe their artwork
* Go to the animated series pitch meeting panel and ask audience members to give their pitches
*Friday is Star Wars Day - interview people in non-Star Wars costumes and ask them what their character did in Star Wars.
* Make up a Star Wars toy and ask people if they've seen it: "I'm looking for the Shogun Warrior-sized Boba Fett."
* Interview the actors/actresses who provided the voices for animated children's cartoons.
* Find a special guest who is not connected to comics (say, a movie star) and ask them what they think about comics conventions.
* Go to the Klingon Lifestyle Presentation and ask them questions about Star Wars.
Serious suggestions:
* Interview somebody from Image - Rob Liefeld, Todd Mcfarlane
* Interview veteran comics writer Peter David. He wrote The Hulk, She-Hulk and a bunch of other Marvel comics.
* Interview Roy Thomas, who wrote The Avengers and Conan the Barbarian and is obsessed with comics continuity.
* Interview veteran comics writer and Hollywoodite Mark Evanier. I don't know what he does for a living, but he seems to know everything about comics, TV shows and movies.
* Interview Joe Matt, cartoonist of "Peepshow". (Seriously, you should.)
* Interview cartoonists Jaime & Gilbert Hernandez (Love and Rockets) and Gary Groth, publisher of The Comics Journal.
* Interview cartoonist Rick Geary about the National Lampoon.
* Interview James Sturm from the Center for Cartoon Studies, a new cartooning school.
make sure to catch tim and eric's awesomecon. I don't know the details on it, but it seems very new sincerity.
