Get well soon, Owen Wilson.

I've seen a surprising amount of snark around the internet about Owen Wilson's apparent suicide attempt this past week. It makes me sick. It shouldn't need to be stated that depression can strike anyone, regardless of how rich or succesful they are. The brain works in mysterious ways, and our values as a society and the chemicals in our neural systems rarely line up in the ways we expect them to. There are very few screen actors as fantastically vibrant and funny as Wilson, a guy who earned every bit of his fame. He's a really special talent, and I can only hope we get to share in more of that talent in the future. So all the best to Mr. Owen Wilson, huh?

I agree with your comment about the "snarkiness" re this subject matter. But what is your comment
"a guy who earned every bit of his fame" based on?

That comment is based on:
Bottle Rocket
Rushmore
Royal Tenenbaums
High Noon
Shanghai Knights
Heat Vision & Jack
The Wedding Crashers
The Life Aquatic
Zoolander

That's nine of his films I've seen, and I've enjoyed every one of them. I think it would be tough for me to name give other actors who I've enjoyed in that many films.
