This week the Nation of Conversation breaks down TLC, including the big heel turn of Smackdown’s lovable loser. Plus: comic creator Box Brown tells us about his special wrestler. Show notes
Graham Linehan is the next guest on TSOYA, and I thought I'd post this hilarious sketch from a show he worked on, the late-90s British sketch series Big Train. That this is like the sixth point on his resume is pretty remarkable.
Granted, I've not seen very many of them, but it's still great. So many connections to great comedy. games
One of my favorites from this show also includes Simon Pegg. Behold... Tom Henderson:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0TZxFQaXkc
The Wanking sketch is one of my favorites. Granted, I've not seen very many of them, but it's still great. So many connections to great comedy. You see Simon Pegg and Mark Heap who went on to be in Spaced (and then Shawn of the Dead and Green Wing, respectively), Kevin Eldon (who was also in Hyperspace with Nick Frost and guested on Black Books, where Simon Pegg guested, as well as co-starring Tamsin Greig, who also starred in Green Wing with Julian Rhind-Tutt, who guested on Black Books and so on and so on and so on). It's all like a great big British comedy vortex. It's like the European version of the New York/Adult Swim comedy vortex (Stella, H. Jon Benjamin, Todd Barry, Eugene Mirman, David Cross, Jon Glaser, etc. etc. etc.)
Kevin Eldon also featured in I'm Alan Partridge which was co-created and co written with armando iannucci who co-created and produced On The Hour and The Day Today on which Peter Baynham was a contributer who also co created and co wrote I'm Alan Partridge and featured on Fist of Fun which also heavily featured Kevin Eldon as Simon Quinlank, the King of All Hobbies, which was created and written by Lee and Herring, who's first radio show was produced by Armando Iannucci which was called Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World which was narrated by Tom Baker. Who was Doctor Who.
