Mike Powell's brilliant interpretation of my brilliant concept

Hey radio pals,

I can't believe it's been a month since we've chatted. (By chatted, I mean since I've sent you a promotional email). We've got a huge contest going on. I just redesigned our whole web page and moved the blog. I'm headed out to the Podcasting Expo this weekend. And besides this, we've got some amazing live events coming up, including an HBO Comedy Fest showcase, Brent Weinbach in Seattle and Portland, and our first ever "Sound of Young America: Live" show in New York City!

More below.

The Tell-a-Friend Contest

This week on the show, I announced
our Tell-A-Friend contest, a multi-front effort on my part to bribe you to tell people about The Sound of Young America. There's a gajillion ways to enter, from linking us on your blog to telling someone about us in real life. You can win one of several super-awesome prizes, and if you have the most creative tell a friend idea, you'll win a super-secret prize pack. The contest ends at the end of the month, so get involved, now!

Hey! Nice new digs!

Podcast Expo this Weekend

I'm headed to the Podcast Expo in Ontario (California) this weekend. If you're going to be there, drop me an email, and we'll hook up! (Not sexy-like. Friendly-like.)

TSOYA Across the Nation!

Mark your calendars, America, because The Sound of Young America is coming to town!

Tuesday, October 17th at the Fake Gallery in Los Angeles, Prank the Dean performs a showcase for the HBO Comedy Arts Festival. This is big stuff for P the D, and we're super excited. More info
here.

And heads up Pacific Northwest: The Sound of Young America presents the great Brent Weinbach live in person August 23rd (in Portland) and August 24th (in Seattle). Brent's making his Pacific Northwest debut, hot on the heels of his ban from CBS' The Late Late Show ("too weird"). We're really happy to be sponsoring the events, because Brent's an AMAZING comic who none should miss. Portland on the 23rd is at the Towne Lounge, and costs $6. Seattle on the 24th is at the Jewelbox Theater, and costs $7. NOT TO BE MISSED! Keep tabs at brentweinbach.com.

And perhaps most amazingly of all... get ready New York City... because The Sound of Young America is coming to town! That's right, we're in the midst of planning for two amazing Sound of Young America live tapings November 10th at the People's Improv Theater. I'm not at liberty to discuss it further... but it should be awesome.

Of course, I'd love to hear what you think of all of this. Just call (206)-984-4FUN or email me at jesse@maximumfun.org.

Your Radio BFF,
JT, "ARS"
