Sawbones: Vinegar

This week on Sawbones, Justin and Sydnee harness the power of history's longest lasting, most widespread and (perhaps) least effective home remedy. The good news about vinegar? Still great on fries.

Also, kombucha uses a "mother" but we call it a SCOBY or symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast. Look up pics of kombucha scoby's if you dare.

Cry it Out...

Guys, please do a show on sleep training. There is so much information out there and since you mentioned you weren't letting Charlie CIO, I immediately wondered why and how. Thank you, Jaimie (new Mum)

Vinegar "mother"

Sydnee is right about the usage of the word mother for the development of vinegar. In French, you say "mère" for both a sourdough starter and for vinegar. In France, there's also a receptacle called a "vinaigrier" that you see in some people's houses that's designed to collect all of the wine not finished out of different bottles so you can end up having really good unique homemade vinegars.
