Content warning: This episode is almost entirely about cooking meat. If you find that subject to be unpleasant, you may want to hold out for next week's episode!

Emily brings the case against her husband Eric. Eric enjoys smoking meats and brisket in particular. Emily complains that smokes brisket too often and that he doesn't manage his time properly during the smoking process. Eric says the brisket is done when it’s done. With Expert Witness Aaron Franklin of Austin's beloved Franklin Barbecue!

Huge thanks to Aaron Franklin for joining us this week! His newest book is Franklin Steak. You can also read about his brisket technique in Franklin Barbecue: A Meat-Smoking Manifesto. Aaron's Master Class can be found at masterclass.com. And, of course, you can line up for his famous BBQ at Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas.

Brother Ali

Stephanie brings the case against her boyfriend, Dan. Her religious beliefs bar her from eating pork or keeping it in their shared home; she'd like Dan to follow the same restriction. He says that when he's away from the home, he'd like to be able to eat what he wants. Who is right?

We are joined this week by expert witness Brother Ali. Judge Jesse Thorn fills in for Judge John Hodgman, and Jordan Morris steps up as guest bailiff.

Thank you to listener Kevin Brown for suggesting this week's episode name!
